چکیده

When using Bai’s method for estimating the coefficients of both the linear and nonlinear parts of a Hammerstein model, there is no guarantee that the resulting linear filter will be stable. To obtain a stable linear filter the well-known minimum phase correction can be used. However, if it used without some compensation in the nonlinear part, one obtains a Hammerstein model with no theoretical foundation. In this paper we present a simple method for compensating the nonlinear part for corrections performed to the linear part. The compensation proved to be stable and fulfills the requirements of combined parameter estimation.

New model for speech residual signal shaping with static nonlinearity

In this paper we apply a nonlinear Hammerstein model for speech analysis and coding using frame-based parameter solving. This paper presents a method for calculating the adaptive frame-based coefficients for a Hammerstein model by modifying the residual signal to the desired form. The method is such that the nonlinear and linear coefficients can be obtained without iterations. In experiments th...

Hammerstein Model for Speech Coding

A nonlinear Hammerstein model is proposed for coding speech signals. Using Tsay’s nonlinearity test, we first show that the great majority of speech frames contain nonlinearities (over 80% in our test data) when using 20-millisecond speech frames. Frame length correlates with the level of nonlinearity: the longer the frames the higher the percentage of nonlinear frames. Motivated by this result...

Phase modelling of speech excitation for low bit-rate sinusoidal transform coding

Sinusoidal transform coding (STC) techniques model speech as the sum of sine-waves whose frequencies, amplitudes and phases are specified at regular intervals. To achieve a low-bit rate representation, only the spectral envelope is encoded and the phases are regenerated according to a minimum phase assumption. In this paper, the inaccuracy of the minimum phase model is demonstrated. It is shown...

On F0 Trajectory Opt for Very High-quality Spee

An optimized fundamental frequency (F0) trajectory extraction method, which alleviates systematic F0 glitches at vowelnasal boundaries and in the vicinity of consonants, is introduced. The proposed method employes minimum phase group delay compensation for apparent F0 modulations due to variations in their corresponding vocal tract transfer functions. This method can also be considered as an im...
